Bruise-colored clouds loom threateningly
A promise of cleansing rain
Tears of the sky shall fall on me
Swallow me whole again
Take heed of the silence in the storm
The crack of dawn brings forth the Unlight
War rages through the temples of mine
Idols toppled down and crushed to dust
White marble spattered with elixir of life
Cannot bear the sight, yet I know that I must
Dark red clouds loom promisingly
A threat of cleansing rain
Tears of the sky shall swallow me
Cover me whole again and again
Take heed of the silence in the storm
The crack of dawn brings forth the Unlight
Voiceless cries from that place inside
Shivering as I shed my hide
The storm brought the silence, pain redefined
Soundless screams tear the throat apart
Twitching yet so cold is the shriveling heart
The alpha and the omega intertwined
War reigns now in this temple of mine
Idols raised from bitter ash and dust
Black marble polished with elixir of life
I will bear the sight, I know that I must
I know that I must
I know that I must
Take heed of the silence in the storm
The crack of dawn brings forth the Unlight
Desolator have the distinction of creating music that should appeal to any fan of the various death metal sub genres. You’re going to find both brutal (Adversarial Doctrine) and melodic (Methods of Self-deception) tracks; the album has an old school feel while not really falling into OSDM worship. The technical aspect is by no means central, but tech death fans should appreciate the riff craft on display (Creatures of Habit). I even got a Sepultura vibe from the drums on the last track.
